Clareville Karate Club has been in existence since 2002. The classes are for both adults and children on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The instructors are Master Brian Healy 6th degree black belt and Helen Doran 4th degree black belt.
There are also a number of other Black Belts who are both students and assist with the classes. The extra Black Belts gives greater opportunity for students to learn in a more focused and personal environment while also enables the Black Belts to develop their teaching skills.
Other instructors include Ger O’ Reilly 3rd degree black belt and Rosanna Doran 2nd degree black belt.
Master Healy has been training for over 29 years under the instruction of Professor James Bryant and Master Hugh Hanratty and is the senior instructor within the club.
Over the years Brian has brought many students to Black Belt Rank and is presently running the club in partnership with Helen Doran.
Helen Doran has been training for the past 13 years and is also a qualified Fitness and Boxercise Instructor.
Here at the club we try to maintain a very friendly, family orientated atmosphere and welcome overseas visitors to training alongside us during their visit to Ireland. To date we have had students training with us from Florida U.S.A., Malaysia, England, Poland and the Czech Republic.
